csc 473 Assignment 5
Due Fri, Oct 2 at 11:59PM
This assignment is to prepare you for the exam. The solutions for it will be made available this Monday, Sept 28. This is so you can check your work since we will not be able to grade these before the exam. Even though this is not due until the Friday after the exam, I strongly encourage you to work on it early so that you will be ready for the exam. It will be collected and points given for it, but since you will have solutions prior to its due date, the questions will only be checked to make sure you¡¯ve done them, not whether they were completed correctly.
Be sure to write neatly and have all your answers be complete. The TAs will always have the right to decide a submission is too messy to try to read and figure out. After completing your assignment you will need to convert it to a pdf and turn it in on GradeScope.
Remember also that the homework is for your benefit. Struggling through problems is the only way to really learn the material. So while I do not consider it cheating in this class for you to discuss the homework with your fellow students or even to seek help online, you really need to think about and try to work the problems on your own first. You just won¡¯t do well if you don¡¯t. Also, while I don¡¯t consider any of the above cheating in this class, I DO consider copying your answer from any source to be cheating. In other words, when you¡¯re writing up your answer, you should not have any other solution to the problem in sight. Once again, the homework is for your benefit so you can learn the material. You will be completely on your own in the tests so doing well on the homework by using other¡¯s solutions will do you no good overall in the class.
