Format of Course
The subject material is broken up into Lessons. Each class will cover one or more Lessons, as time permits.
Each lesson begins with a Lecture, in which the professor will present material in PowerPoint and SAS. The PowerPoint slides and SAS code are made available on Blackboard. All material covered in the slides and SAS files is subject to testing, unless otherwise indicated.
After each Lecture, there will be a period in which the students work on relevant Practice Problems. During this time, collaboration with other students and questions for the professor and/or TA is highly encouraged!
Each lecture includes recommended Readings from the textbook and other sources. The readings are intended to enhance understanding of the lecture material.

Quizzes, Homework and Exams
There will be a Homework assignment most weeks. Homework is due before the start of the next class. Students are allowed to discuss Homework problems with each other and to ask questions of the professor and TA, but the solutions they submit must be their own work and not copied from another student.
Most classes will include a short Quiz, based on material covered in the prior class. Collaboration and the use of any outside resources (lecture material, notes, websites, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
There will be two Exams: a Midterm and a Final. Both exams will be 2 hours long and will consist of written and computer-based components. As with quizzes, collaboration and the use of any outside resources are strictly prohibited.
