b) ¡°University Announcement: Student Guidelines for Taking Online Final Examinations for Semester A 2020/21¡± dated 29th September, 2020
The instructions should be followed strictly. It is your responsibility to ensure a stable network connection.
During the test
1. The test will be available in ¡°quiz¡±.
2. Write down your answer on paper and then scan the paper. Upload it as a pdf.
3. Approved calculators are permitted in tests (as well as in the exam.)
4. The test is open book.
5. Zoom is used for communication. Do not exit.
6. Both devices must be turned on and shown in real time in Zoom.
7. Optionally you may use a device (e.g. even a third one) for recording the whole session. This
can be used as additional evidence that you have completed the test honestly. I do not
require the recording of the whole session.
8. At the end of test, I will announce ¡°pens down¡±, after which there should be no more writing.
Marks will be deducted if you continue to write.
Note You may come back to the university to take the test. Note that you still need one device (e.g. to assess the web, scan answers, etc.)
After the test
1. Upload the pdf. You can use your second device for scanning.
2. There will be 15 minutes for scanning and uploading. Marks will be deducted for late
submission.
3. If your file cannot upload, ask my permission to send by email. You must attach valid
evidence about the failure to upload.
If you have any difficulty or extenuating circumstances concerning the above, please email me before the test.
Note
1. Marks will be deducted if you violate the instructions above. Severe cases may result in
disciplinary action.
2. We may capture video/pictures about your tests. These video/pictures are for examination purposes only and will be destroyed after use.
