Lecture 1 – Introduction to Unit
Special Consideration – Request for Extension
• Must provide documentary evidence
• Should be submitted before the assessment is due (unless valid reason for
being late – you’re in a coma)
• Applying does not guarantee it will be granted, or for how long you may be approved an extension. Work on your assessment as soon as you are able, in case it is not approved.
• Include your progress-to-date for the assessment item. This will be important in determining if an extension will be given.
• University policy will be followed • AIPs:
• Discuss any needs for extensions with the unit coordinator well in time before an assessment is due
• Ensure you follow proper process, or requests will be declined
• A request is needed for each assessment, it is not automatically granted because
you have an AIP.
• If you are requesting an extension for the group assignment, ONLY your part will be eligible. So if you suspect you will need an extension, you must discuss this with your group so any negative impacts can be mitigated.
