Multipass Lighting
Surfaces see few lights
So each light is separate pass

Moves control outside the fragment loop

Also, attenuate lighting by distance

Multiple blending passes burn bandwidth
Mesh is processed multiple times
And geometry transforms are not cheap
Fragment computations are repeated
