Instructions
When you complete your actual final exam, be sure to carefully read the instructions on the Canvas home page for the exam, including the instructions in the box at the bottom of the page.

Then, read the following instructions, which are nearly identical to the instructions you will see in the actual final exam (the main difference is the addition of the “Submission of and feedback for this practice exam” section):
Where to complete the exam
You will complete this final exam using this online platform, Cadmus.
To ensure the integrity of this exam, you must:
1. Complete this task entirely in the Cadmus platform. Submissions that have been written using other software (e.g. Microsoft Word) and then pasted/transcribed into Cadmus are identifiable.
2. Complete this task individually. Collaboration with others is NOT appropriate in this assessment, and measures are in place to identify this.
3. Write this task in your own words, referencing relevant ideas as appropriate. All Cadmus submissions are checked for possible plagiarism and contract cheating using Turnitin.
Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be investigated as a potential breach of the University of Sydney’s Academic Honesty in Coursework Policy 2015: https://sydney.edu.au/policies/showdoc.aspx?recnum=PDOC2012/254&RendNum=0. These measures assist us to verify the originality and authorship of all submissions and ensure assessment fairness for all students.

Exam questions
Question 1
In the Foundation in Global Logistics unit, you have been introduced to a range of logistics and supply chain concepts. Many of these concepts are relevant when it comes to supply chain risk management.
Consider this list of logistics and supply chain concepts:

· Customer value
· Total supply chain cost
· Functional versus innovative products
· The 4Rs
· Bases of competition
· The customer order decoupling point
· Just-in-Time (JIT)
· Pre-transaction, transaction, and post-transaction elements of customer service
· ABC analysis
· Centralisation of inventory
· Drop shipping
· Demand forecasting
· Facility location
· Transport modes
· Economies of scale and scope

A. Concisely explain the concept (200 words maximum, 15% of exam marks)
B. Discuss how the concept is related to supply chain risk management (800 words maximum, 60% of exam marks)
Some of the concepts will have a stronger relationship with supply chain risk management than others, and you are encouraged to choose a concept that has a strong rather than weak link to risk management.
Question 2
Provide an example of a logistics activity where the STO framework can be applied. What aspects of the activity operate at the strategic, tactical and operational levels? Explain how the different levels interact with each other in this example. (350 words maximum, 25% of exam marks)
