2. How do we study MAN3102?: Some Practical advice
1 Do not learn the book by heart
you will not be asked to recite it
2 Solve as many exercises as possible, and
3 Keep a record of which issues/rules each exercise examines, and
Try to be as speci�c as possible
(examples of (2) and (3) will be given in the classes)
4 Provide answers NOT numbers
5 Structure the answers
(examples of (4) and (5) are shown on spreadsheets)

a The mid-term test consists of one compulsory question
that examines the material taught in the first five classes.
b The final exam is made up of two sections.
Section A consists of one compulsory question about Corporation Tax
Section B examines aspects of Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax,
Section B consists of three questions each of which carries 20 marks.
c Both the mid-term and final examinations will be proctored and
