A 1. There are 2 parts in the final project. In total, the final is worth 52 points.

Final Project: Part 1 – Quiz (30 points)
There will be multiple choices and open questions. You may download the PDF questions
first, complete the code, and then go to Part 1 to complete the test.
Final Project: Part 2 – Code (22 points)
Upload your code file under Part 2. I accept html, word, or pdf file.

Q 2. Here are the requirements:
(1) Questions that require code: In Part 1, if a question has specified Code requirement, it
means that question requires you show the code and code output in Part 2.
(2) Identify which code corresponds to which question.

R users: label each question in .rmd file before knitting the code.
Stata users: label each quetsion in .do file before executing the code.
If you choose to screenshot, then label it in a word file.

(3) Comment your code: It is important to clarify the intention of each line of code and state what
you have observed relevant to the question.
(4) Accepted format: HTML, WORD, or PDF.
(5) Requirement to receive full points: Please present both code and code output for each
question.

Q 3. When will the final be available?
A 3. The final project PDF file, data, final project: Part 1 – Quiz, and final project: Part 2 – Code
will be available on December 6 monday, 6 pm (CA time).

To get final project PDF file and data, go to Files – Final Project.
To complete the quiz, go to Assignments – Final Project: Part 1 – Quiz.
To upload your code, go to Assignments – Final Project: Part 2 – Code.

Q 4. How many attempts do I get? Is there a time limit?
A 4. For both parts, you have 1 attempt only. There is no time limit. You have access to this test
as long as it is between December 6 Monday 6 pm to December 7 Tuesday 6 pm (CA time).

Q 5. Can I get help during the exam (e.g. hint, sample code, clarifications)? Can I work with my
classmates?
A 5. There is no sample code or hint at this point. I will not answer any emails related to the final
(even for clarfications). Just do your best to answer each question. Make sure to deliver your
individual work. Students who copy each others’ answers during the final will receive an F and
fail this class.

Q 6. What to do if I encounter a technical issue?
A 6. If your computer breaks down during the exam time, try these solutions first:
(1) Borrow a computer from a friend.
(2) Use UCI virtual lab: https://uci.apporto.com/user/login. It has both RStudio and Stata
installed.

(3) Try UCI library computers or other computers located at UCI.
If the Canvas system breaks down, try these before emailing us:
(1) Try another brower
(2) Restart your computer.
(3) Try another computer.
(4) Wait for an hour and try again.
