Guidelines for Final Research Paper
Your final research paper is based on the Research Proposal (Abstract) and Outline assignment that you have already submitted. It must include the following sections. Besides an Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review and Conclusion, you should use descriptive headings and sub-headings to make the different parts of your paper more meaningful to readers.
· Abstract (Maximum 250 words, addressing the purpose of the study, problem(s) you plan to solve, proposed solutions, anticipated issues with solutions, anticipated results, and major impact(s) of your study. Do not cite other research articles in your abstract. It should be followed by index terms)

· Introduction (An overview of the topic, problems, problems you plan to solve, and structure/organization of the paper)
· Literature/State-of-the-Art Review/Related Work (In this section you can have multiple descriptive subheadings. Extract and synthesize information from relevant articles. Organize this section into 3-4 paragraphs such that readers understand your purpose for referring to those articles/literature you found. Cite and discuss at least 7 peer-reviewed articles in this section)
· Project Justification/Description and Goals of the Project – (In this section you will discuss the importance of the topic/project that helps readers understand its value. Also include a discussion of the specific problem you are planning to solve)
· Technical Aspects – (Again, you do not need to use this heading. You can have multiple descriptive headings and subheadings. Categorize the implementation plan, system architecture, advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of the solution in a meaningful way)
· Conclusion (Include major findings, limitations of YOUR study, and recommendations for future research)
· References (Include at least 10 peer-reviewed articles in IEEE format)
Other important requirements:
· The paper should be approximately 4000 words, which corresponds to about 8 pages if using a double-column format or 15 pages if using a single-column format.
· Make sure the title of your paper is descriptive and at the top of the paper.
· Include in IEEE format your name, department, affiliation and email below the title of the paper
· Make sure your headings and sub-headings are descriptive.
· Your paper should follow IEEE format (except the two column format).
· In-text citations and references should be in IEEE format. Make sure you have cited all 10 peer-reviewed articles within the body of your paper.
· Figures, graphs, and tables should have descriptive captions underneath them and should be referred to within the text.
· I will consider all IEEE and ACM articles as peer-reviewed. Avoid referencing articles from predatory journals.
· Have someone proof-read your paper before submission.
· See IEEE format template (Canvas files) to familiarize yourself with the required format for this paper.
