How to Upload Hand-Written Work as a PDF File
Typing out calculations or drawing diagrams in a word processor can be extremely arduous. Instead we strongly recommend that you write out your answers by hand on paper (especially as this is what you will have to do in the final exam), then scan this in or take photographs using a camera or smart phone. If taking a photo, make sure there is enough light and that you use high data quality / resolution (the largest file size) so your work can be clearly seen. Next, collate all your work into a PDF file. You might consider using the method below:
1. Copy your photos into a word processor. If you paste your work into Word (or any word processing programme), select “Save as”, then find the drop-down box marked “Save as type” and then select PDF.
2. Select all your photo files together, right click and then select “print” (there will be a similar option for those working on an Apple product). Once in the print menu, instead of selecting your normal paper printer, there should be a drop down menu where you can select “Print to PDF”, or something similar. This will save these photographs in sequence in a complete PDF file.
