Time: 5.55pm login for reading instructions; test starts at 6pm. Duration: 50mins
Topics covered: Topics 3 to 5 (includes all materials covered in lectures, tutorials, and readings) Test Format (15% of your total mark for this course):
 Open-book: Students are allowed to refer to any material. (Important: As this is an open-book exam, a large number of questions are applications-based. You are likely to run out of time if you are unfamiliar with your material. You are advised to prepare for this test in the same way as you would prepare for a closed-book test.)
 The Online Test comprises ten (10) multiple choice questions (MCQs) which do not require calculations, and six (6) short calculation questions which are mainly multi-part. Each part is written to be equivalent to a MCQ (see details in table below).
 Each MCQ, as well as each part of a calculation question, is one (1) mark each (total = 25 marks).
(Note: Moodle cannot provide information about the no. of marks per question, so we now provide this information before the test. You know upfront the exact no. of parts each question has and can plan.)
Type of Question

2-part short calculation
3-part short calculation
4-part short calculation
No. of Questions

Alternative arrangements: Students with a valid reason to request for special arrangements (e.g., students registered with ELS or who have clashes which are supported by evidence) will no longer be able to make such requests after Sunday (3 April) 12pm. ELS students who sent Yee their ELS letter at the start of Term 1, 2022 and received an acknowledgement will be contacted by early Week 8.
To complete as soon as possible before your Online Test:
 Please ensure you have read the “Online Test Rules” on the next page and Student Declaration document in the “Online Test II” section in your Moodle course page before your online test.
 Please ensure that you meet Moodle System Requirements (e.g., Google Chrome and have a good internet connection) to reduce the possibility of you experiencing technical issues during the test: https://student.unsw.edu.au/moodle-system-requirements
 You must also do an internet speed check. The link is provided in the “Online Test I” section.
 *Important note from IT*
o Students must enable Javascript on their laptops / computers before commencing any online test or exam. If students have disabled this feature, there have been issues in the past where students cannot type in an answer. To enable Javascript in students’ web browsers here is a handy link for the main web browsers:https://www.enable- javascript.com/

On the day of the test
Before beginning the test:
 Reboot your computer to free up memory (especially given your test is late in the day).
 Close all programs including all instant messaging tools and email as they may conflict with Moodle.
 Use the browser recommended for optimal compatibility (https://student.unsw.edu.au/moodle- system-requirements)
Instructions for accessing your online test:
 Log in to the Moodle Course (ACCT2522)
 To begin the online test, go to assessments and click on the link under “Online Test II”.
 You are advised to sign in five mins early to read any instructions provided, before the test starts at the time indicated above.
During the test:
 Each student must complete his/her exam individually; and is neither allowed to receive help from any other external source (e.g., coursemates) nor allowed to share his/her answers with anyone in any way (e.g., by WeChat). Acting otherwise would constitute academic dishonesty and severe penalties will be imposed.
 Please note that once you have completed a question and clicked onto the next question, you will no longer be able to return to the previous question. You should spend an average of 2 mins per mark.
 Answer all questions.
 Academic misconduct will be dealt with severely as indicated in the course outline. Penalties
for misconduct include getting a zero for this assessment.
What to do if your online test is interrupted or you encounter any issues:
 If you experience any issues, in the first instance take a screenshot of your entire screen as evidence of the issue you experienced. Your screenshot must include the time and date.
 Try to refresh your browser or switch to another browser that is recommended by UNSW.
 Reconnect to the Internet and log back into Moodle.
 Restart your computer and try again.
 For Moodle issues, students should contact External TELT Support:
o Phone: Australia: (02) 9385 3331; International: +612 9385 3331
 Email Yee with the screen shot and a brief explanation of the issue to see if she is able to help (most likely she would not have the ability to assist but she will try):
 After the test, apply for special consideration immediately with your screenshot as evidence of technical issues and the IT ticket number to indicate that you have contacted IT. Please ensure that you have collected sufficient evidence (familiarise yourself with requirements prior to the test so that you would not be panicking if this happens): https://student.unsw.edu.au/special-consideration
